Texas, Ohio, Ga. dailies tap
Kodak for CTP

 

Kodak landed a number of sales of its Trendsetter computer-to-plate units and associated software late last year. Among them:

•The Austin (Texas) American-Statesman purchased three Trendsetter News 150 units.

•The Columbus (Ohio) Dispatch ordered three Trendsetter News 200 Platesetters and Kodak digital plates. In addition to its flagship, the paper produces 22 community weeklies, a Hispanic weekly, the Columbus Alive alternative weekly and a variety of commercial projects.

 

•News Publishing Co. in Rome , Ga., purchased a Trendsetter News 70 and Kodak digital plates. The company prints the Rome News-Tribune and 10 weekly newspapers.

•Cannon Valley Printing in Northfield, Minn., added a second Trendsetter to print two daily newspapers, the Owatonna People’s Press and the Faribault Daily News, plus nine weeklies, biweeklies and shopper publications.

•Carolina Classifieds in Monroe, N.C., purchased two Trendsetter News 70 Platesetters, Kodak digital plates, Staccato screening, Prinergy Evo workflow software, Preps imposition and Kodak InSite Software to print the Carolina Money Saver and other products.

•Publications Press Inc. of Montgomery, Ala., purchased a Trendsetter News 50 Platesetter and Kodak digital plates. The company prints real estate magazines and commercial coldset and heatset web publications.

•Lake Worth (Fla.) Herald Press Inc., purchased a Trendsetter News 50, Kodak non-process thermal plates, Prinergy Evo workflow software, Preps imposition software and Staccato screening.

•PAGE Co-Op member Hunter Publishing in Madison, S.D.,  purchased a Trendsetter News 70, Kodak thermal digital plates, Prinergy Evo and the Plus version of Preps imposition software to handle production of the Madison Daily Leader, 20 weeklies, student and monthly community newspapers, as well as commercial printing jobs. Meantime, PAGE Co-Op member Page 1 Printers in Slayton, Minn., added a second Trendsetter News 70 and Kodak digital plates. Page 1 prints more than 40 weekly newspapers and shoppers, as well as commercial sheetfed jobs.
