Britton Services Inc. said it has wrapped up mechanical, electrical and
pipefitting work in conjunction with a new press installed at the Frederick
(Md.) News-Post.
The newspaper is installing a
Color Top 4000UDH press from TKS (USA) to anchor a new production facility. The
press is configured as six four-over-four towers with two 2:3:3 jaw folders and
capable of being split into two separate lines.
The press is equipped with
nine Megtec reels, a technotrans spraybar control and a Baldwin Technology Co.
blanket wash system.
The News-Post designed the
press with reelroom-level, end-mounted folders, permitting it to run the machine
36 pages straight and 72 pages collect. Additionally, the superstructure allows
for any combination of webs from either pressline to go to either folder.
