 Abu Dhabi Media Co. deployed software from MAN Roland unit ppi Media to anchor the workflow of its new English-language daily, The National. PPI installed PlanPag, ProPag and printnet OM at the paper’s print facility.

Atex said it added Hebrew and Arabic language support to its content management software and that Israeli newspaper publisher Yedioth Ahronoth Group is the first user to deploy the upgraded software.

Cox Enterprises last week purchased online ad technology firm Adify for $300 million in cash.

Adify develops software that allows Web sites to tailor ads to specific audiences and will help Cox build vertical networks, said John Dyer, Cox’s executive vice president of finance.

Cox said Adify will retain its San Bruno, Calif., operations.

Polkadots Software Inc. announced that every version of its Newsflo, Adflo and Plateflo workflow apps will now incorporate its new preflight and auto-fix technology. The apps are on display at drupa this month in hall 9, booth E61.

Nela acquired M+A Pass-System GmbH, a supplier of automatic register punching, sheering and bending systems.

Nela said the purchase will complement its array of newspaper, commercial web and sheetfed products.

All operations from the M+A facilities in Burscheid and Leichlingen, Germany, will be transferred to Lahr, Germany, where Nela’s corporate headquarters are located.
