News&Tech Radio takes time to talk video
with Star-Ledger editors
News&Tech Radio broadcast its
first live radio show last month, detailing the recent video training program
conducted by The Star-Ledger in Newark, N.J.
Last May the newspaper put 20
newsroom staff through an intensive five-day video training boot camp, covering
such topics as how to shoot and produce video (see Newspapers & Technology, June
2008.)
Newspapers & Technology
Art/Multimedia Director Chere’ Martin spoke with Star-Ledger Deputy Managing
Editor John Hassell, Assistant Managing Editor for Video Sharon Russell and
Video Enterprise Editor Seth Siditsky about their experience.
“We’ve seen the convergence of
print, online TV and radio that is going to change our industry completely,”
said Hassell. “We are in the news business and not the paper business and pushed
hard to improve the delivery of content online.”
