DUSSELDORF, Germany — Newspaper suppliers unveiled a host of new technologies
and services at this year’s drupa, ranging from registration control systems to
new presses.
Trade show organizers said
more than 390,000 people attended the two-week exposition, with international
visitors accounting for 59 percent of the total. “The print sector is more agile
than ever,” said Albrecht Bolza-Schunemann, president of drupa and chief
executive officer of Koenig & Bauer AG. “This is clearly reflected in the
numerous deals concluded with virtually all business regions.” Messe Dusseldorf,
which runs the convention, said companies negotiated deals eclipsing $15 billion
during the show.
