Britton Services Inc. began work in conjunction with its color expansion project at The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. BSI is responsible for providing mechanical, electrical and pipe-fitting services supporting the installation of six TKS (USA) ColorTop 7000 H-style towers The AJC is adding to its existing TKS presses at its suburban Atlanta plant. Above, BSI crews begin the installation of sole plates. The new towers, which will be outfitted with spraybar dampener systems from technotrans and controls from ABB, are scheduled to be on-edition in November. The project will allow the newspaper to print up to 32 pages of color, almost doubling its current capacity.
