Ostsee-Zeitung upgrades printnet

Axel Springer’s Ostsee-Zeitung in Rostock, Germany, will upgrade its ad production and output management to AdMan and printnet OM solutions from MAN Roland unit ppi Media, ppi said.

The upgrade to printnet aims to maximize automation and standardization in production, and will allow Axel Springer to consolidate the system with its newspaper, Lubecker Nachrichten, in Lubeck, Germany.

The new ad app will enable publishers to organize their ad production workflow efficiently and flexibly, ppi said. Lufthansa Systems’ VI&VA ad booking software will be integrated into Ostsee-Zeitung’s existing printnet planning and production workflow with PlanPag, AdPag and ProPag.

“With the integrated media solution from ppi Media and Lufthansa Systems, this means improved networking and long-term optimization of our advertising production workflow,” said Sven-Soren Ulrich, IT manager at Ostsee-Zeitung. “The database-driven, open system architecture enables us to create a much more efficient and transparent production workflow and to link our ad sales zones to those of the Lubecker Nachrichten.”

Meantime, the output management app printnet OM will optimize plate productions, the publisher said.
