Tensor lands Turkish
heatset order
Tensor Group Inc. said it sold
two T-500 commercial presses to Turkish printer Dogan Offset Publishing and
Printing.
Installation of the machines
will begin later this year, Tensor said. Each press is configured as two
four-high towers and one H-50 folder.
The T-500, introduced last
year, incorporates three vibrator rollers and three ink form rollers to meet ink
coverage demands of heatset and UV printing. It’s rated at 50,000 copies per
hour.
The presses will be equipped
with Essex Products Group remote inking, Quad Tech Inc. register guidance and
Megtec vertical dryers and splicing systems.
Dogan Offset prints magazines,
inserts, books and telephone directories. The new machines will allow Dogan to
produce more than 1.5 billion signatures a year, Tensor said.
The sale is the second Tensor
has made to Dogan, which also uses a 76-unit coldset Tensor press to produce its
flagship newspaper, Hurriyet (see
Newspapers & Technology, April
2004).
