Markzware released version 3
of its Markzware conversion tool, which the vendor said allows users to convert
QuarkXPress files to Adobe InDesign. The app converts files created with
QuarkXPress (versions 3.3 through 7.x) on both Microsoft Windows and Apple
Macintosh platforms, Markzware said. The app is priced at $199 for new users and
can be upgraded for existing users for $99.

Polkadots Software Inc. released Newsflo Intro, built on its flagship Newsflo
workflow software. Among its features, the app includes preflighting, a Web
browser interface, soft proofing and automated page pairing, and is available
for $9,995. Meantime, the Aberdeen (S.D.) American News rolled out Newsflo
across its site to replace a variety of legacy apps that integrate with newer
software.

Fujifilm introduced PressMax,
a line of environmentally friendly pressroom chemistry and press care products
designed to improve press performance and efficiency. PressMax is available for
heatset, sheetfed and mini web presses, supports a variety of dampening systems
and works with conventional, UV/hybrid or metal inks, Fuji said.

MAN Roland unit ppi Media said
it will release an upgraded version of its soft proofing application. PressProof
TC, for true color, links with printnet and can be linked via high-res image
data for proper computer-to-plate exposure. In addition, the app can
automatically consider selected paper/ink combinations in simulation, ppi said.
