CGI introduces new injector system

Controls Group Inc. introduced a new ink injector system designed for use on narrow heatset and coldset web presses. The system is designed as a replacement for current open fountain and blade adjustment systems, the company said.

The new injection system does not use fountain levelers or agitators. The ink is maintained in an enclosed pressurized supply system until metered directly into the unit.

The injector system is made up of three modules, each containing eight zone injectors. The typical narrow web press utilizes twenty-four zones across the web.

Common drive system

The modules operated by a common drive system, meter ink to each zone via individual zone hoses. Once metered, the ink is transferred to the original unit ink ball via the supplied distribution head.
