Production plant gets presidential

Seacoast Media Group is finding new roles for its new production plant in Portsmouth, N.H. The publisher hosted Democratic candidate Sen. Hillary Clinton earlier this summer where she addressed some 200 people.

That followed a visit in the spring by Sen. Barak Obama (D-Ill.) who focused his presentation on healthcare.

SMG takes the time to host the forums despite the juggling required to open up the necessary physical space, said Paul Briand, director of operations. “We go out of our way to have the plant ready for visiting press and curious voters,” he said. “But we see it as part of our journalistic responsibility, and it’s nice that the new facility allows it.” SMG christened the 70,000-square-foot building that includes the production plant in February. The facility was designed by Dario Designs Inc.
