William Ryker joined Anygraaf as sales director.

 

Agfa Graphics announced that Peter Wilkens, director of Agfa’s newspaper segment for North America, will now head the U.S. sales and marketing team as vice president.

Meantime, Agfa named Kevin Bialobzyski as a new account manager for Agfa Graphics, Canada, assigned to Alberta.

 

Advanced Publishing Technology named Diane Duren online project manager.

 

WoodWing Software named Hans Janssen chief executive officer, and Ruud Rijbroek, one of the founders of the company, chairman of the board.

Flint names CEO

Flint Group named Charles Knott chief executive officer, effective Sept. 1.

Knott led and developed global specialty chemical companies within Unilever and ICI plc, most recently serving as chairman and chief executive officer of Quest International, a unit of ICI.

Knott succeeds Dave Frescoln, who was named deputy chairman of the consumables company.

MultiAd promoted Gina Bennett to product manager for MultiAd Revolution, the company’s Web-based classified display advertising app.

 

AlfaQuest Technologies Inc. named Arnd Schimanski product support manager for media systems, Diane Kepley to application specialist for media systems, Kristina Aevermann to application specialist for media systems, Garry Forman to technical support engineer and Ken Anderson to technical support engineer.

Pressmart named Myles M. Fuchs president of its North American operation, a newly created position. Fuchs, a former executive with NewsStand Inc., will oversee the company’s sales and marketing efforts.

 

Topix appointed Chris Tolles chief executive officer.

 

INDUSTRY

The (New York) Daily News named Stephen Lynas senior vice president of Daily News Digital, responsible for overseeing the paper’s online activities.

 

The Press-Enterprise Co. named Ken Nelson vice president of advertising.

 

Signature Offset named Matt Sanchez production training director. He will be responsible for training all of the printer’s production and press operators in all seven of Signature’s facilities.

 

Judy Brenna rejoined Journal Register Co. as its director of investor relations.

 

The New York Times Co. Regional Media Group named Jerome Ferson publisher of The Ledger in Lakeland, Fla.

 

Wayne Bean, operations director/projects, at the Los Angeles Times, retired after a 38-year career that included stints with newspapers in Tucson, Ariz., and Torrance, Calif.

 

The Seattle Times Co. named Larisa Sheckler to directory of online operations for the company’s new media division.

 

The Los Angeles Times Media Group named Dr. Kamran Izadpanah vice president of software engineering and architecture for latimes.com.

 

OBITUARIES

Michael Lemke, senior vice president of sales and marketing at The Seattle Times Co., passed away in June. He was 53.

Lemke joined The Times in 1986 and oversaw print and online advertising for both The Times as well as the Seattle Post-Intelligencer.

The New York Times said Raymond E. Douglas, who helped oversee the paper’s introduction of color into its news pages in the late 1990s, died June 29. Mr. Douglas was 58.
