Quipp sells mailroom to Caracas daily|
Vendor also upgrades inserter at Richmond, Ind., newspaper and rolls out features for its 500 C stackers.

Quipp Systems Inc. said it sold a complete mailroom system to C.A. Ultimas Noticias in Caracas, Venezuela. The system consists of a Quipp-Gripp III single gripper conveyor, model 500 C stackers, Viper wrappers, strappers and an extension to the publisher’s bundle distribution system.

The new equipment is slated to be in production this fall and will join existing Quipp systems already in operation at the publisher, which prints one of the country’s largest newspapers.

Meantime, Quipp said it expanded an inserter at the Richmond (Ind.) Palladium-Item, installing a remanufactured two-feeder module with jogger assembly, feeder air blast kits, motors and a remade hopper loader.

Additionally, the vendor added two enhancements to its 500 C stackers, providing bundle compression and stream squeeze roller capabilities.

Finally, Quipp said it sold stackers to a number of papers, including Fort Wayne (Ind.) Newspapers, The Cincinnati Enquirer, The (Boise) Idaho Statesman and The News & Observer in Raleigh, N.C. All told, Quipp has sold more than 3,700 stackers and 2,300 wrappers since 1983, the firm said.
