The Spokesman-Review in
Spokane, Wash., inked a deal with Fujifilm Graphic Systems USA to install two
new Krause LS-Jet 170 violet computer-to-plate devices and two Krause BlueFin
processors. The daily will image Fuji’s LP-NNV violet newspaper plates.

sales and marketing for Krause.
“The LS-Jet 170 devices seem
to be a perfect match for our output schedules, which include commercial print
products as well as our daily newspaper, The Spokesman-Review,” said Mike
Hollingworth, IT production manager for the paper. “And, we’ll be able to attach
these new lines to our existing Nela punch benders.”
Hollingworth said he and his
staff put emphasis on the quality and consistency of the plate itself, and
didn’t focus solely on the CTP device when deciding which platesetter technology
to purchase.
Another important factor to
Hollingworth when looking at a new system was the support and the effort that
would be made “to make sure we are operating at a high level day-in and
day-out,” he said.
Fujifilm entered into an
agreement with Krause last year to become the exclusive dealer for Krause
products in the United States.
