Jividen was named vice president of production at The (Washington) Examiner.
Journal
Register Co. named Scott A. Wright as senior vice president of operations in
Michigan, replacing Thomas E. Rice, who retired. Wright most recently served as
president and publisher at Suburban Community Newspapers in Memphis, Tenn., and
president and general manager at the Oakland Press in Pontiac, Mich.
Rice will
continue to serve as president and CEO of Journal Register Supply Inc., JRC’s
Alton, Ill.-based purchasing subsidiary.
The
Chicago Tribune named Tony Hunter as senior vice president of circulation and
operations, promoting him from vice president of operations. Hunter’s old
position will be filled by Becky Brubaker, who is joining the Tribune after
serving as vice president of circulation and operations at The Daily Press in
Newport News, Va. The Tribune also named Owen Youngman senior vice president of
strategy and development.

(Baltimore) Sun Co. named Tim Ryan president, publisher and chief executive
officer.
Russell
Joyce was named president of Xsys Print Solutions, succeeding Ewald Draaijer.
Gary
Hughes joined Transcontinental Inc. as site leader, overseeing the firm’s
construction of a northern California plant that will print the San Francisco
Chronicle.

The Web
Offset Association and Flint Group presented Steve Richardson, pressroom manager
at Courier Kendallville in Kendallville, Ind., with the H. Howard Flint II
Pressroom of the Year Award at the group’s annual meeting. The WOA also said
Remi Marcoux, executive chairman of Transcontinental Direct USA Inc., was
presented the group’s Harry V. Quadracci Vision Award.

Sumner Phillips, 67, founder of Mountain States Inc., passed away April 16.
