Fairfax Atex rollout continues

Fairfax Media in New Zealand said its rollout of Atex content management and production software continues. The Dominion Post in Wellington went live with Atex’s editorial software late last year, following a four-week training program, Atex said. The Post followed sister publication Manawatu Standard, which deployed the software earlier in the year.

“The introduction of the Atex system has been exciting for The Manawatu Standard because we saw it as an opportunity to fast-track much-needed change across the entire business,” said General Manager Gerard Watt. “Along the way we have gained greater efficiencies and productivity, changed workflows and practices, re-jigged our production schedule and restructured our newsroom.”

Fairfax will next roll out the software at its papers in greater Wellington, including The Waikato Times and Taranaki Daily Newspapers.
