The Charlotte (N.C.) Observer is deploying Virtual Iron’s virtualization and management software to help support a Unix to Linux migration project for three applications including its Oracle-based circulation database. With Virtual Iron Version 3.1, the newspaper is virtualizing its Oracle-based circulation system database.

Atex said it blended its advertising software with AdMission Corp’s Marketplace portal at the King County Journal in Kent, Wash. The integration will let the Journal offer enhanced advertising packages that support both print and online advertising, Atex said.

Marketplace lets advertisers manage ad campaigns online and King County’s integration will enable marketers to manage scheduling, pricing and content, Atex said.
