WoodWing USA announced the
release of a bundled suite of editorial software called Smart Newspaper, which
the company said includes some of its most popular editorial apps.
WoodWing said the new
software’s pricing and support will make it appealing for newspapers of all
sizes.
“We’re packaging together all
the solutions that a newspaper needs,” said Brian Kruger, chief executive
officer of WoodWing. “No matter what size they are, if a newspaper is using
(Adobe) InDesign, Smart Newspaper is going to make life easier for editorial
staffers, and it’s going to save the publisher money.”
The Smart Newspaper suite
features the Smart Connection editorial app, Smart Styles style and formatting
app, Smart Layout for layout, Smart Wire for managing incoming wire copy and
Smart Mover, an integrated workflow and file manipulation tool that allows users
to automate tasks, WoodWing said.
Other vendors whose apps
integrate with Adobe InCopy and InDesign include Digital Technology
International and Unisys.
