Rust Communications rolls out clustered editorial, Web system
Australian publisher also taps Saxotech

The Southeast Missourian in Cape Girardeau selected editorial and online software from Saxotech Inc. The initial agreement includes Rust Communications’ flagship daily Southeast Missourian and three community papers, which will all run on centralized Saxotech editorial software integrated with its hosted Saxotech Online app to drive Web products, the company said.

“This installation is the first phase of what we expect to be a cluster approach to integrated content management throughout our company,” said Jon K. Rust, publisher of the Southeast Missourian and co-president of Rust Communications.

The new platform will allow the daily’s reporters and editors to streamline workflow and increase efficiencies, Saxotech said.

Meantime, The Federal Publishing Co., a privately owned media group in Australia, chose Saxotech to provide complete content management software for its print and online products, including online advertising.

The software will enable FPC to streamline interactions between editors, journalists and photographers, Saxotech said.

Saxotech’s apps will allow FPC to increase productivity of its editorial staffs by extending content and online applications to enhance news publishing operations and further build its online communities, Saxotech said.

With Saxotech Online, FPC will focus on enhancing its users’ online experience via three content classes: news publishing, community publishing and online advertising.
