Le Figaro of France launched
production of its print editions and supplements using Mˇthode editorial and
publishing software from EidosMedia.
The app provides an integrated
XML-based environment covering editorial functions ranging from edition
planning, tracking and story editing to pagination of advertising and page
design, EidosMedia said.
The app’s new News Scheduling
module will provide Le Figaro shared workspace for planning news coverage and
coordinating the application of resources and assets to news items and events.
“Careful selection and
discussion of editorial content is central to Le Figaro’s news management
process,” said Nicolas Beytout, editor in chief at Le Figaro. “Mˇthode’s
scheduling functions allow us to identify topics, link them to resources and
then assign them to individual journalists and photographers in a very
transparent and flexible way.”
The app will serve about 300
users at Le Figaro and replace the publisher’s existing editorial system, based
on Oracle and QuarkXPress.
