ECRM introduced its new PDF- based workflow app, WorkMates, at GraphExpo last month, which the vendor said is tailored to the needs of small- to medium-sized newspaper and commercial printers.

ECRM WorkMates enables printers to automate specific tasks, accelerate productivity and become compatible with desired file formats, ECRM said.

With its ImposeMate, TrapMate, ProofMate and PrintMate modules, WorkMates allows users to capture files in a PDF format, impose, trap, and proof, as well as preview the file prior to imaging. Files on the RIP can then be repurposed at a later date, if necessary.
