Burgess lands deals with PAGE, Ogden newspapers

Burgess Industries said it recently installed register control, off-line punch/bend, and in-line plate management and handling systems at PAGE Co-op members Epoch Press in Paterson, N.J., Richner Communications in Garden City, N.Y., and The Intelligencer in Doylestown, Pa., in conjunction with those publishers’ transitions to computer-to-plate.

Other PAGE Co-op members to recently place orders for Burgess equipment include J. Frank Publishing in London, Ky., The Hawkeye in Burlington, Iowa, and Buckley Newspapers in Bay Springs, Miss. Each of these members chose Burgess’ Tri-Point Register System. The installations will occur before year-end, Burgess said.

Elsewhere, The Sun-Gazette of Williamsport, Pa., purchased an inline plant management system, Burgess said. The installation represents the eighth time Ogden Newspapers has partnered with Burgess for computer-to-plate-related equipment in recent months. Previous Ogden installs include those at the Maui (Hawaii) News, the Parkersburg (W. Va.) News, the Daily Breeze of Cape Coral, Fla., the Morning Journal in Lisbon, Ohio, the Journal in Martinsburg, W. Va., the Daily Freeman Journal in Webster City, Iowa, and The Intelligencer in Wheeling, W.Va.

Each of the Ogden sites tapped Burgess’ Tri-Point Register System.
