S.C. paper goes with Agfa

Agfa Graphics said The Island Packet in Bluffton, S.C., purchased two Advantage DL violet computer-to-plate systems with Arkitex NewsDrive software.

The Island Packet and sister paper The Beaufort (S.C) Gazette are scheduled to move into a new production facility anchored by a Koenig & Bauer AG Prisma press later this fall.

“We expect our advertisers will seen an improvement in quality, color and overall experience,” said William King, production director at both papers, of the CTP systems.

The Island Packet and The Gazette will each use Agfa’s N91v negative-working aluminum plates. In addition to the core newspaper, The Island Packet prints many supplements and is currently planning to add commercial work once the new facility is completed.
