ArcWest gets Skagit nod

Skagit Valley Publishing Co. in Mount Vernon, Wash., tapped ArcWest Architects Inc. to oversee design and construction of a new 50,000-square-foot office and production building built around a new single-wide press.

SVPC hopes to move into the new building in 2008, said Stedem Wood, publisher. In addition to the press, the building will sport new computer-to-plate and postpress equipment. Wood said the company has yet to determine where it will construct the new facility; it had previously begun design work on another site but had to find a new location because of environmental concerns.

SVPC prints the daily Skagit Valley Herald and three area weeklies.
