-The Gannett Co. Inc. board of directors authorized the repurchase of an additional $1 billion of its common stock and also declared a regular quarterly dividend of 31 cents per share, an increase of 2 cents per share.

 

-Fujifilm Graphic Systems released Fuji Remote Approval 1.5, the remote approval module of Fuji Open Workflow. New features in the application include job browser, which allows clients to monitor a job’s progress. It also offers improved JDF support and e-mail notification Fuji said,

-New ProImage Ltd. chose Next Solutions BV as its representative in the Benelux region of Europe.  Next Solutions is based in Mijdrecht, the Netherlands.

-Polkadots Software introduced a Harlequin RIP workflow plug-in called PrePage-it RIPflo.  The firm said the plug-in offers the digital integrity of true RIP once output many to all sizes of printing companies. Polkadots offered this plug-in free of charge to the first 100 registered users. After the initial release, RIPflo will be available for $1,995.

-Chromaticity Inc. and EFI launched EFI’s new Validation 250 Premium Satin proofing media for the graphic arts and design markets. Chromaticity will be the sole North American distributor of  the proofing product. EFI’s Validation 250 Premium Satin proofer is designed for use with Epson UltraChrome K3 and similar ink sets.

-The Dalane Tidende of Egersund, Norway, installed editorial content management software for its daily print and online editions from Atex. The newspaper already uses Atex’s advertising software.

-The AdsML Consortium released AdsML Framework 2.0 Release 8. The XMP AdTicket Schema allows key advertising metadata to be embedded into digital artwork files like PDFs. Also included in AdsML 2.0 Release 8 are backwards-compatible changes to the AdsML Bookings, AdsML Materials and AdsML TypeLibraries schemas. Additional maintenance changes, also backwards compatible, were made to several other specifications.
