Pressmen nab murder suspect

Two press operators at the Daily Press in Victorville, Calif., caught a man accused of killing two people after the suspect tried to carjack a woman in a parking lot adjacent to the newspaper’s building.

The paper said Daily Press Foreman Joe Iskandar and press operator Rey Bantug were taking a break Aug. 7 when they heard screams from a woman who was confronted by John Wayne Thomson.

Thomson, suspected of murdering two people and suspected in one disappearance, was held by Iskandar and Bantug until police arrived, the Daily Press said.
