Quark Inc. announced that Meadows Publishing Solutions released new XTensions software to support QuarkXPress 7. DesignMerge is a suite of software modules that allows users to create variable-data output from QuarkXPress projects.

The Netherlands’ news organization NDC VBK, with its daily titles Leeuwarder Courant and Dagblad van het Noorden, chose CCI Europe’s NewsGate app to publish to multiple channels, CCI said.

NewsGate is a content management app and integration architecture that brings together all elements of the newsgathering process and places them into a centralized, easy-to-access, easy-to-overview location, CCI said.

The Observer Dispatch in Utica, N.Y., and the Appeal-Democrat in Marysville, Calif., each implemented ProImage’s browser-based NewsWay workflow app. Both newspapers will output to Kodak computer-to-plate equipment.

Xitron released RIP Manager 3.1, Xitron’s workflow app for Harlequin-based RIPs.  RIP Manager 3.1 brings increased control of the RIP to the desktop and the ability to select trap sets, image rotation, color separation sets and page features.
