Web Press notches 2 sales

Web Press Corp. said it installed a Quad-Stack color printing unit at Leader Printing in Madison, S.D., to help the newspaper and commercial publisher boost color capacity.

Leader added the unit at a right angle to its existing Goss International Corp. pressline to offset space and ceiling height limitations at its production site, WPC said.

WPC installed the unit to enable the printed web to cross over and merge into the Goss line.

Controls for the Quad-Stack were mounted on the existing Goss folder. Leader publishes the Madison Daily Leader.

Meantime, WPC installed two Quad-Stack units at La Republica in San Jose, Costa Rica, in August.

The units will be added to the paper’s Goss Community press, WPC said.

WPC said the publisher was attracted to the WPC units because of their ability to keep start-up waste at a minimum.
