from NAA
The
Newspaper Association of America (NAA) is a nonprofit organization representing
the $55 billion newspaper industry. NAA members account for nearly 90 percent of
the daily circulation in the United States and a wide range of nondaily U.S.
newspapers. The Association focuses on six key strategic priorities that
collectively affect the newspaper industry: marketing, public policy, diversity,
industry development, newspaper operations and readership.
Here
you will find information on NAA’s activities that specifically relate to
newspaper technology and operations. Additional
information on NAA and its projects and activities can be found at www.naa.org.

Hotels Expected to Sell Out - Make Your Reservations Early
Be
sure to reserve your housing requirements for NEXPO early! Chicago attracts a
lot travelers - even in early April - so hotel rooms are expected to sell out. You’ll want to stay at a NEXPO hotel for networking
opportunities, and shuttle bus service direct to NEXPO at McCormick Place.
Three hotels serve NEXPO in Chicago:
Sheraton Chicago Hotel and Towers (Headquarters Hotel), Hyatt Regency
Chicago and Hyatt Regency McCormick.
Reservations
for these hotels must be made via the NAA Housing Bureau, not the hotel
directly. For the best selection, be sure to reserve your room by February 24,
2006. Hotel reservations may be made online at www.nexpo.com.

Annual Convention Attendees at NEXPO
Over
the same dates as NEXPO, NAA’s Annual Convention, or “Publisher’s
Conference,” also takes place in Chicago, allowing for joint programming and
special events. Attendees of the Annual Convention will have complete access to
the NEXPO Exhibit Hall and educational sessions, and a joint general session for
both NEXPO and Annual Convention attendees will take place on Tuesday, April
1st, in the morning. Be sure to plan your travel so you can attend this session
to hear what your publishers are hearing! And if your Publisher or other
executive is planning to attend the Annual Convention, use this opportunity to
walk them through the show floor and have discussions with current - or
prospective - vendors. For more information on the NAA Annual Convention and to
register, visit: http://www.naa.org/conferences/annual06/.

important to color quality at your newspaper and how to use the SNAP guidelines
to achieve - consistently - the best possible color reproduction. Apply the
standard to your efforts to establish and improve quality assurance procedures
for your newspaper production operation, and watch your advertisers smile. Item
