Digital Technology International secured a patent on SpeedURL, a product that allows newspaper readers to reference URLs of any length in print with a four-digit code. SpeedURL is designed to make it simple for publishers to create a link between print and online content.

The four-digit alphanumeric SpeedURL code allows publishers to capitalize on the advantages of both print and Web, and to tie the two products together, DTI said. The Las Vegas Review-Journal is the first newspaper in the United States to purchase SpeedURL.
