Michael J. Dodd was appointed vice president of national account development at US Ink.

The newly created position calls for Dodd to increase sales in current markets and identify new opportunities within the firm’s national accounts and newspaper groups, said Ron Baker, US Ink’s president. Before joining US Ink, Dodd served as northeast vice president at Flint Ink.

AMC appointed Derek Hall as development director responsible for the company’s Matrix2 publishing distribution software. 

Enovation Graphic Systems named Al Eddy and Mike Troy to the positions of national business manager, imaging products and national business manager, consumable products, respectively.

INDUSTRY

Jonathan Wolman was named editor of The Denver Post’s editorial page. Wolman is formerly the senior vice president of The Associated Press. He succeeds Sue O’Brien, who passed away last August.

Knight Ridder named Pamela J. Browning president and publisher of the Centre Daily Times in State College, Pa. She succeeds Henry Haitz III, who is now publisher of the Bradenton (Fla.) Herald.

Knight Ridder also named Par Ridder publisher of the St. Paul (Minn.) Pioneer Press. He succeeds Harold Higgins, who is retiring.

 

Harry Whipple, most recently publisher and president of The Cincinnati Post, was named president and chief executive officer of the Newspaper Agency Corp., which prints The Salt Lake City Tribune and Deseret Morning News. He succeeds Joseph H. Zerbey IV, who was named vice president of MediaNews Group’s East Coast newspapers. NAC also named Fred C. Temby as executive vice president and chief operating officer.

 

Marc Z. Kramer, The New York Times’ senior vice president of production, was named senior vice president for circulation as the paper shuffled its top management. Tom Lombardo, meantime, was named vice president for production at the paper’s College Point, N.Y., plant.

Kramer will manage production and labor relations, continuing duties he’s performed since 1999, according to the paper. Lombardo formerly served as executive director for production and plant manager of the College Point facility.

The New York Times Co. said that Janet L. Robinson would succeed Russell T. Lewis as president and chief executive officer. Lewis plans to retire at year-end. Leonard P. Forman was named executive vice president and chief financial officer and Scott Heekin-Canedy was named president and general manager of the newspaper, a position previously held by Robinson.

The New York Times also appointed Phyllis Calvano as vice president and controller.

 

Pierre Karl Peladeau was named president and chief executive officer of Quebecor World Inc. He is replacing Jean Neveu, who served as interim president and CEO since March 2003. Peladeau most recently was president and CEO of Quebecor Media in Canada.

 

The Telegraph in Macon, Ga., hired Greta Staches as its new human resources director.

 

Tribune Publishing named Tim Landon president of Tribune Interactive and Classifieds, a newly established division in the publishing group that combines the operations of Tribune Interactive and Tribune Classified Services. Tribune Media Services promoted Jan M. Guszynski to marketing director.

 

Sacramento (Calif.) Bee Associate Editor Tom Philp won first place for editorial writing in the National Headliner Awards for “The Water Barons,” his editorial series on California water districts. The Bee also received two second-place honors.
