Several
newspapers have signed contracts to install ProImage America Inc.s NewsWay
prepress workflow app.
The
Clarion-Ledger in Jackson, Miss., completed installation of its NewsWay system.
The daily is using the software to create the edition plan, make soft and hard
proofs and output pages to two Creo Trendsetter computer-to-plate units.
The
Poughkeepsie (N.Y.) Journal, meanwhile, will use NewsWay in concert with its ad
layout software, QuarkXPress and other apps. It too will use NewsWay to drive a
Creo Trendsetter CTP system.
The
(Phoenix) Arizona Republic extended its NewsWay deployment by adding an
additional ink-presetting module that will automatically calculate ink values
and transmit those values to its Rockwell press control system.
The
Arizona Republic has two printing facilities; one in Deer Valley and one in
Mesa. The newspaper already had ProImages ink setting module in Mesa but
recently upgraded its Rockwell press control system in Deer Valley, thus leading
The Republic to purchase ProImages ink-setting module at that facility as
well.
The
Hattiesburg (Miss.) American last month installed NewsWay Light. The American
will use NewsWay to load balance two new Harlequin RIPs, pair pages, route pages
for proofing and output to SeeColor proofers.
NewsWay
also burns the appropriate text and page furniture and outputs to two existing
CTP lines that are being used to produce USA Today.
Finally,
The (Boise) Idaho Statesman also
purchased NewsWay to manage its workflow and production, which consists of
QuarkXPress, Managing Editor Inc.s Roundhouse software, a Digital Technology
International classified ad app and two new Harlequin RIPs. The software will
page pair, create proofs, burn text and page furniture and load balance two new
Kodak Polychrome Graphics Newsetter CTP units.
