Small
papers are now getting the attention of advertisers, said David George,
president of Profitpackaging. We wanted to create a company to design and
make equipment suited for newspapers of today.
Case
in point: Profitpackagings label, note and tabbing applicator. This gives
small papers the same ability as larger metros to apply notes and labels either
online or offline, George said.
Profitpackaging
built a 32,000-square-foot plant to assemble the applicator and related products
that include shuttle tables, conveyors and collator pockets and baggers.
George
said hes already sold equipment to a number of newspapers, including the
Joplin (Mo.) Globe, the Olathe (Kan.) Daily News and the Daily Nonpareil in
Council Bluffs, Iowa.
