Q.I. Press Controls North America Ltd. opened its new office in North Kingstown, R.I., which will be run by General Manager Gerald Ferron. Q.I. plans to set up a distribution network of its color, cut-off and sidelay register and printing press management systems for web offset presses at the new center.

MacDermid Printing Solutions said its conducting a site selection survey in Europe in anticipation of building a new printing plate manufacturing facility. This new facility will produce printing plates for the newspaper market, primarily for European customers. MacDermid said it needed additional capacity to support the flexographic newspaper printing market.

Harper Corp. of America formed the Harper Graphic Solutions Group. The new group will provide services usually not available within the flexographer’s organization, including the ability to help customers upgrade their graphics capabilities.
