William
Dean Singleton, vice chairman and chief executive officer for MediaNews
Group and outgoing chairman of the Newspaper Association of America,
combined his love of music with the world of publishers at the recent
NAA Publishers Conference in Seattle. Singleton received a gold record
from the Four Tops (below) and a thank you from the incoming president
of the NAA, Tony Ridder, chairman and CEO of Knight Ridder (2nd photo
below). The Beach Boys, Three Dog Night and the Four Tops entertained
the crowd all evening.
