Three publishers of specialty and weekly
publications have shifted to computer-to-plate, purchasing Trendsetter 70
thermal systems from Creo Inc.
Trader Publishing in Norfolk, Va., purchased 10
CTP systems in order to standardize production of publications that range from
Auto Trader to The Employment Guide.
Trader is installing two CTP units in each of
five print sites it operates, in Portland, Ore.; Columbia, Tenn.; Winston-Salem,
N.C.; Dayton, Ohio; and Cranston, R.I.
Trader has used Creos CTP system in its York,
Pa., print facility for several months and prints all of its publications with
the vendors Staccato stochastic screening technology.
MCW in Louisville, Ky., meanwhile, purchased a
Trendsetter to print its specialty publication, which covers the farm equipment
industry.
Finally, Baton Rouge (La.) Press bought a CTP
system for its weekly newspapers and other publications.
