Ferag shifts manufacturing to Switzerland headquarters

Staff Report

Ferag Americas has restructured its Bristol, Pa., office into a sales and service facility following a decision to move all U.S. engineering and manufacturing to Ferag headquarters in Hinwil, Switzerland.

“We have implemented this restructuring in order to better meet our customers’ needs and expectations in North America,” said Joseph Colletti, president of Ferag Americas. “Our customers are demanding innovative, cost-effective solutions and Ferag is now able to act quickly to address these requirements.”

Colletti said the change would allow the company to focus its efforts on the introduction of its RollStream collating/inserting equipment as well as its Domino service strategy.

RollStream is Ferag’s new 45,000-copy per-hour collating/inserting system.

First to buy

The Bakersfield Californian is the first U.S. newspaper to purchase this technology, with installation scheduled to begin later this year.

RollStream and Domino will make their North American debut at this year’s Nexpo show in Las Vegas.

Technical support, service and spare parts for both existing and new Ferag customers will be handled from the Bristol office.

Colletti declined to say how many employees lost their jobs as a result of the shift in operations.
