Protec to install Milenium system for Spanish newspaper group

The Promociones Periodísticas group in Spain reached an agreement to upgrade its editorial operations with Protec’s Milenium. The system will be integrated within the group’s 11 newspapers and printing centers through the Comms suite.

The editorial upgrade to Milenium will be installed in two phases. In the first phase, the modules acquired will be installed in the two common-interest content production centers: in the center at Valladolid, for the information concerning Castilla-León and in Toledo for Castilla-La Mancha information.

Likewise, Diario de Ávila, Tribuna de Toledo and Tribuna de Ciudad Real will be upgraded with Milenium, joining the newspapers that already work with these solutions: Diario de Burgos, Diario Palentino and Tribuna de Albacete. In the second phase, the rest of the group’s newspapers will be equipped with Milenium.

The group opted to acquire the following Milenium suite’s modules: Server Publishing for content management and creation in a database for printed publications; Express, for the messaging system; Designer, for page design and layout; Editor, for newsroom tasks; Photo, for image treatment with Adobe Photoshop; the News and Pictures Web modules for access via Web to text and image contents sent by agencies and collaborators; Sports for sport tables management and Security for adding application security to the editorial databases.
