Belgium-based Europrinter signed a supply
agreement with Maquimpress SA for Western Lithotech, a Lastra Group Co., for
newspaper computer-to-plate systems and solutions.
^uroprinter purchased three Western Lithotech
computer-to-plate DiamondSetter 6102SP systems.
Europrinter prints publications including
Corriere della Sera, Gazzetta dello Sport, El Mundo, The Daily Telegraph, USA
Today and El Pais with a total estimated production of 600,000 copies per year.
The Diamond system allows us to fulfill our
production schedule with no delays and guarantees high quality editions
everyday, said Jose Maria, who is responsible for the production and
technical department of Europrinter.
The DiamondSetter can achieve standard production
rates of up to 116 panorama plates and 196 single plates per hour at a
resolution of 1,000 dots per inch. The DiamondSetter 6102SP uses one FD-YAG
laser imaging module. The trolley loading system can load up to 400 panorama or
800 single-page plates.
The side-load DiamondVision optical punch bender
has a productivity rating of 270 single-page plates per hour. Europrinter
installed three OPBs that allows three different punching and bending plate
outputs at a time, which can be substituted one with the other in accordance to
the printing needs.
The LY-8 photopolymer CTP plate, which contains
no silver, can be exposed at 532 nanometers.
The DiamondSetter spooler software or the
optional DiamondTrac software manages image files. The software manages the data
flow between all of the press input and output components.
