X-Rite Inc. announced a joint effort with ABB Inc. where X-Rite will combine its
ATD News scanning densitometer with ABB’s MPS control console to deliver a
closed-loop color measurement solution for profiling the press. This solution
optically measures color levels from a unique test image on newspaper copy and
automatically sets ink zone values correspondingly for rapid and reliable
quality control.

X-Rite’s International business unit.
X-Rite and ABB add that some of the benefits of
closed loop measurement system include:
• Faster color adjustments
• Consistent quality of color critical
advertising
• Reduced human error
• Minimized waste and ink use
• Self-calibrates before each measurement.
