The Post Publishing Public Co. Ltd., publisher of
the Bangkok Post, will be the first newspaper in Thailand to install an
integrated dual Thai- and English-language publishing system.
The Bangkok Post is installing a 40-seat Prestige
content management system from Atex Media Command and expanding its existing
Enterprise classified advertising system to include run on press display

The Thai-language software developed by Atex
Media Command will make it much easier for us to produce our newspapers, said
Khun Aikhamol, information technology director for The Post Publishing Public
Co. Ltd. It will allow us to use the same technology throughout our
publications and also allow for easy information exchange, especially the
cross-selling of ads between our English and Thai publications.
The Post is incorporating its new Thai-language
applications with Atex Media Commands Web Prestige Web publishing solution
and into its Digital Collections 4 image database. The Post uses CyberPage from
Atex Media Command for its English-language editorial requirements.
Thai is probably one of the most difficult
languages for a computer to handle, said Reiner Ebenhoch, Atex Media Commands
vice president of Asian operations. This is the second time that we have
pioneered a breakthrough for Thai-language publishing. The first time was in
1988 with our J11-based Thai-language editorial system. We look forward to
continuing our long relationship with The Post Publishing Public Co. Ltd.
