At the end of last year, Random Eye Technologies
Inc. launched www.artistfolios.com, a
Web site where photographers and illustrators can list their portfolios online.
The artistfolios site provides a stock link to each persons work on the stock
photography site that represents them.
Random Eye operates www.imagegrabber.com, a stock
photography site where newspapers and other users can get rights-free and
royalty-protected stock images on the Web. Image grabber was first introduced in
2000 as a software application, but has since become a solely Web-based service.
Several stock photography agencies are partnered
up with Random Eye, making their images available via imagegrabber.com. Random
Eye recently added more stock agencies to the list. In February, Random Eye
added Solus Images and Harstock to its list of image grabber stock agencies.
Both agencies are offering rights-protected images for purchase on
www.imagegrabber.com. Random Eye is currently in the process of adding several
other agencies to its stock photography service list as well.
Random Eye also announced a partnership with
United Kingdom-based picture research firm, Image Select International in
January. ISI works with newspaper and publishing clients across Europe and image
grabber will be the backbone of ISIs photo research and sales for their
European and North American clients. Through the partnership, ISI has created a
customized version of image grabber for its clients to purchase stock
photography. ISI is integrating image grabber with its existing product line and
clients will be offered two options: they can search for images themselves on
imagegrabber.com, or ISI can complete an image search on their behalf.
What we want to give our clients is the widest
choice, with the best customer service, in one location. And we are confident
that image grabber can help do this for us, said Alex Goldberg, vice
president of group sales at ISI.
There are approximately 78,000 users accessing
imagegrabber.com to purchase stock images and the ISI partnership expands the
use of the service.
This partnership is a very exciting step
forward for Random Eye, said Ken Davies, president of the company. It
allows us to offer our technology to the European market through an innovative
partner.
