News Briefs

Arpac L.P. recently announced the expansion of its packaging capabilities to include a new line of pallet stretch wrapping equipment.

The recent acquisition of Infra Pak will allow Arpac to provide packaging solutions at all stages of the packaging process.

“The business of Infra Pak is a natural, strategic fit for us,” said Arpac President Michael Levy.

The company plans to start offering the new stretch wrapping equipment immediately.

The Spokesman-Review in Spokane, Wash., plans to add a new Heidelberg NP630 inserter — the third at the daily — when it expands its production facility this summer.

The new inserter will include eight standard NP25 hoppers and six MSLP hoppers designed for lighter products. Heidelberg will also supply an NP125 delivery gripper conveyor and a downstream control system.

The new inserter will expand capacity at The Spokesman-Review and allow the paper to dedicate one system for Sunday packages.

When the facility expansion is complete, an existing 26-hopper NP630 equipped for dual delivery will be primarily used to produce Sunday packages.
