NEW ORLEANS — USA Leader Inc. introduced the M2
Digital Zoned Insertion System, the company’s latest newspaper inserting
machine.
The M2 can be set up with a minimum of
three stations and as many as 30, all running from 12,000 copies per hour to
48,000 cph. Production rates vary based on a newspaper’s production
environment and the type of insert.
Inserts ranging from 3-by-5 cards to single
sheets to full broadsheets can all be handled by the M2 . The maximum
size insert it can handle is 12.5 inches by 16 inches and as thick as 64
broadsheet pages. Prepacks can be re-fed as inserts or jackets. Newspapers can
also customize the configuration of their system.
The system also features:

• Automatic eject of programmed bad/good copy

• Belt-feeding system to eliminate product
misses, doubles and product damage
• Automatic timing from pocket to pocket
• Toolless adjustments
• Air-clutching system for engaging and
disengaging the pocket
• Standard and mirrored product flow
• Custom configurations
The M2 also has touch-screen controls,
digital AC drive system, electronic job set-up, automatic diagnostics,
plug-and-play electronics, and job status and reporting.
