Kennedy Group attaches two new items to line of promotional products

NEW ORLEANS — The Kennedy Group, a manufacturer of labeling, packaging and promotional labels, introduced two new labeling systems for the newspaper industry at Nexpo.

The linerless Tab-On ads are sticky notes that feature a double-strip of removable adhesive to help ensure that they will stay attached to newspapers during their run through the mailroom and delivery.

The notes are a standard 3-square inches, but are available in other sizes. Yellow and white are standard colors, but Kennedy has a variety of other colors. The Tab-On ads can be applied in a production environment running up to 85,000 copies per hour.

Versa-Cards are cards that have a clear backing coated with adhesive. When the card is removed, the backing stays on, but will not interfere with any editorial content on the page. The card comes with two grades of paper — a thin coupon-grade paper that can be used for instant redemption coupons, and a thicker medium-weight paper that can be used for such items as temporary membership cards. Also available is a durable plastic-grade Versa-Card that can be used for a long-term item, such as a frequent-shopper card.

Versa-Cards can be printed on both sides with up to eight colors or four-color process printing. The backs of cards can have areas for signatures, bar codes, or sequential numbers. They are also available in standard or custom sizes.
