Fuji Photo Film U.S.A. Inc. appointed Stanley E. Freimuth to the newly created position of executive vice president and chief operating officer. All Fujifilm Group and Division heads will report to Freimuth.

Fujifilm also announced the promotion of Daniel C. Maffeo to vice president and general manager of the Graphics Systems Division.

Masayuki Muneyuki has been appointed vice chairmen of Fuji Photo Film Co. Ltd., while Shigetaka Komori will succeed Muneyuki as president of the company.

 Alvin J. Brunner has been elected president and chief operating officer of Autologic Information International, replacing Dennis Doolittle, who resigned.

Software Consulting Services announced the appointment of William Bader as director of research and development. As head of the Toolsmiths department, Bader will coordinate with executive staff for technical and product development.

Digital Art Exchange Inc. appointed Bradford Giles, co-founder of DAX, to the role of president. The scope of Giles’ responsibilities includes management of brand marketing, product and service development, and delivery and sales management.

Julie Shaffer is the new director of the Graphic Arts Technical Foundation’s Center of Imaging Excellence. With 13 years’ experience in the industry, she will manage GATF’s hands-on digital electronic prepress lab, as well as oversee the Foundation’s internal prepress production workflow, teach several prepress workshops, and perform prepress consultations.

Corbis Images, Corbis’ image licensing division, announced the appointment of Patrick Donehue to its senior management team as vice president of commercial photography.

Monotype Systems Inc. announced the hiring of four new sales people, Jeffrey Bernhardt to cover the East, Lowell Allen in the Midwest, John Caron in the New England area, and Randy Sievers in the West/Southwest.

PrePress Solutions Inc., a subsidiary of Monotype, hired Anne Marie Levie as their new HR Personnel.

Harold Covert has been appointed to Splash Technology Holdings Inc.’s board of directors.

Covert has more than 20 years’ experience and is currently the chief financial officer of Red Hat Inc., an open source operating system software, information solutions and services.

 Steven M. Prejsner has joined the National Printing Equipment Association in the newly created position of manager of technology. He will serve as the staff expert on products used in printing, publishing and converting as well as other managerial responsibilities.

net-linx AG announced the appointment of Dick Steensma as president of its recently acquired CText Inc. subsidiary, an element of its Publishing Solutions division. He takes over day-to-day responsibilities from Larry Moore, who remains as CText chief excutive officer.

Dean D. Durbin has been named chief financial officer of Vertis. In his new, expanded role, Durbin will be responsible for finance, Information Technology, logistics, materials management and national operations.

K & F International announced Mike Squires has joined the company as international sales director of the South American and Asian markets.

Jeffrey J. Hoffman joined Saxotech Inc. operations in Rockville, Md., as a customer fulfillment specialist. David Quackenbush joined Saxotech in customer fulfillment as a part of the technical sales support, workflow analysis, product installation/integration and long-term customer support team.

Mactive Inc. announced Maggie Dimmick and Alex Nelson joined the company’s engineering services team.

Polaroid Graphics Imaging L.L.C. announced the promotion of Richard C. Deroo to the post of director, strategic partners and OEM sales for the company.

K. Richard Littrell was appointed to vice president of North American field operations with responsibility for PGI’s field sales operations throughout the United States, Canada and Mexico.

Kodak Polychrome Graphics United States and Canada, announced the promotion of Richard Mazur to the position of vice president of sales.

Enfocus Software announced the addition of four management positions including Mark Atchley, product manager, PitStop Server; Susan deRepentigny, national account manager, Graphic Arts; Lisa Thostenson, enterprise and channel sales manager, North America; and Rich Stach, operations manager.

Joseph Von Zwehl was given a Lifetime Achievement Award by NAGASA, the distribution association for printing and imaging technologies, at the Forum 2000 convention in San Antonio. With over 40 years’ experience in the graphic arts industry, Zwehl is currently a director of Varn International.

Madison Paper Co., a wholly owned affiliate of Myllykoski Corp. of Finland, announced the appointment of Kevin J. Kuliga as president.

The Superior Printing Ink Co. announced that Michael R. Brice has been elected president of the New York Printing Ink Manufacturers Association. Stephen Simpson was appointed to the post of senior vice president and chief technical officer.

Goss Graphics Systems appointed Harry Kokolus to director of aftermarket sales and product development and Richard Wauer to the position of director of parts sales and distribution.

Quad/Tech Inc. announced the appointment of three new vice presidents to its executive management team: Karl Fritchen of sales, Ingermar d’Agrella of operations, and Larry Peters of engineering.
