Banta, Reciprocal alliance
manage digital rights

Developing solutions to the publishing industry's digital rights management and copyright concerns are the focus of a technology and marketing alliance between Banta Integrated Media and Reciprocal.

Customers of Banta's B-media, a digital content management program, and B-commerce, an Internet and Web housing software and service package, will receive content rights clearing and royalty checking through a direct link to Reciprocal's DRM service. Reciprocal will offer B-media and B-commerce software and services to its customers.

"Our customers need a comprehensive and integrated approach for obtaining, verifying and clearing their rights to digitally distribute content," Andrew Heitner, director of Banta Integrated Media said.

"We will ensure that digital rights management is seamlessly integrated into the digital asset management and workflow on the strategic benefits of vending and distributing their intellectual property online," said senior vice president of Reciprocal's Publishing Division, Matt Moynahan.

The companies will work together to jointly market their products and services through Banta's Technovation Exchange Seminar program, as well as developing additional joint marketing systems of publishing customers to enable them to capitalize efforts.
